What is a Debit Card?
A debit card is like an electronic check that draws money out of a bank account or financial institution like PayPal®. IT DOES NOT OFFER CREDIT (usually). There are withdrawal limits, and most importantly, it DOES NOT report to the three main credit bureaus. It is often NOT accepted for things like car rentals but does work for purchases. Unlike a credit card, a debit card often does NOT have security, so if your debit card is used fraudulently there may not be the security of knowing the funds will be replaced. As long as you have an account, getting a debit card is usually pretty easy with no credit check.
