Stop Bill Collectors’ Calls Shield

We are here to help by taking your creditor calls and letters so they don’t bother you. We do this at no cost as a thank you for considering Cameron Bankruptcy Law for a bankruptcy. It must be a contract to be legal, but it is at no cost to you. Contact us with questions.

What We Do:

– We’ll accept calls and letters from people or companies to whom you owe money (called ‘creditors’). We will not be responsible for recording calls or notifying you of creditors’ mail.  You may assume we are receiving creditor mail.

– We’ll hold their written communications for one week.

– We will attempt to contact you for any court notices.

– We may sue creditors for you who violate the law.

– You can schedule an appointment to come pick up any creditor mail if you would like. You MUST make an appointment if you want the mail. We only guarantee to hold the communications/mail for one week.

After one week, we may shred the letters and other forms of communication.

What We Do NOT  Do:

– Notify you of creditor contacts.  We will try to notify you of any court documents.

– Go to court for you if you are being sued, unless we are retained for this purpose in another contract.

– File anything in court for you.

– Answer legal papers for you.

– Answer creditors for you.

– File for bankruptcy for you.

– Go to any hearings.

– Stop lawsuits or garnishments.

******** This is only for taking calls, not notifying you, and holding creditor mail for one week.*******

What Do You Do

You agree to send the attached special cease and desist letter to each creditor by Certified Mail through the post office.
You must:

  • Fill out the letter with the right creditor info.
  • Keep a copy of the letter for your records.
  • Fill out and keep the Certified Mail receipt (the little green card or receipt from the post office) to show it was sent. Attach it to the copy of the special cease and desist letter you sent to the creditor.
  • *** If you don’t send it Certified Mail AND keep the receipt, the calls may not stop, and we will probably not be able to sue them. ***

This step is very important. It gives proof that the creditor was told to stop contacting you, and we may need it later if we take legal action. If you don’t have this proof, we may not win the lawsuit, and you may not get any money from it.

What Do You Do If Creditors Still Contact You?

Use this script for creditor phone calls:

Cameron Bankruptcy Law represents me.
Cease communicating with me. I refuse to pay the debt. Mail my attorney. They only take communication by mail.
Their address is:

Cameron Bankruptcy Law
8019 Atamasco Circle
Raleigh, NC 27616

Document the Calls as Below:

If any creditor attempts to contact you in any way—such as by phone, text, or mail—you should keep a record of each interaction.

Here’s what to write down:

  • The date and time they contacted you
  • The creditor’s name
  • The name of the person who contacted you (if they gave it)
  • What they said (This is important because if they break the law by threatening you or engaging in any other unlawful action, it can serve as grounds to sue them.)
  • If you read them the script, tell them to contact your lawyer
  • Their phone number (if it shows up – ask them)

Also, if they send anything in the mail, save all the materials.

Why is this important? If they continue to bother you after you have instructed them to stop as described, we may be able to sue them under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and the North Carolina Debt Collection Act. The average case could be worth $1,000 (for you) or more per contact, so keeping track really matters!

If they continue to bother you, please notify us after the second call so we can take action on your behalf.

Original Lenders (like banks, landlords, and medical providers)
Original Lenders do not fall under the FDCPA if they do their own collections. You are protected under the North Carolina Debt Collection Act (N.C. Gen. Stat. § 75-52)

  • They cannot contact a debtor who is being represented by an attorney once the formal cease and desist letter has been sent.
  • If they do, we can take legal action, and recover significant damages of up to $4,000 per violation!.

How Long Does This Last?

– This service begins today and will continue until Cameron Bankruptcy Law instructs it to stop. We will attempt to call you to give you 24 hours’ notice.

– The client stops the subscription.

 – Until the client does not answer or return Cameron Bankruptcy Law’s calls, texts, and emails within 24 hours.

– We can end this agreement at any time for any reason. But don’t worry; we will be nice about it to you and to your creditors. It is your responsibility to notify creditors by mail, email, and phone if this service ends.

You can also stop at any time by providing written notice to us.

Payment:

– This service is FREE to whomever Cameron Bankruptcy Law chooses.

– Cameron Bankruptcy Law will be paid by the court if we sue a creditor, or we will receive ⅓ of the damages paid by the creditor.

We are not promising to stop legal action, and we are not filing for bankruptcy for you under this agreement. You agree that you will not blame us or hold us responsible for anything creditors do.
